Yiyang Rubber & Plastics Machinery First Conducts Technical Upgrading of Rubber Mixing Line

Recently, Yiyang Rubber & Plastics Machinery and Guizhou Hongyang Sealing signed an agreement on overall technical upgrading project of the rubber mixing production line, which started the transformation of maintenance business from repairing of single internal mixer to the technical upgrading of the entire rubber mixing line.

With the advancement of Germany’s Industry 4.0 and Made in China 2025, the conventional rubber product industry is facing the urgent need to eliminate outdated production capacity and upgrade production technology. Yiyang Rubber & Plastics Machinery has seized the development opportunity to launch a “one-step intelligent rubber mixing technical scheme” for the rubber product industry and apply the scheme in Guizhou Hongyang Sealing. According to the demand characteristics and technical requirements of rubber product industry, the scheme utilizes a small tandem internal mixer as the core equipment to transform the original model for rubber mixing process and realize the one-time completion of the master and final mixing of rubber.

It will not only boost the development of rubber product industry, but also conform to the new global trend of high efficiency, energy saving and environmental protection of rubber mixing equipment. Since the introduction of the one-step scheme last year, it has won recognition and orders of many rubber product users. Many enterprises have dispatched people to conduct on-site investigations of advantages and features of new production lines at Guizhou Hongyang Sealing. Currently, in addition to Guizhou Hongyang Sealing, Yiyang Rubber & Plastics Machinery has signed contracts with a number of enterprises specializing in the fields of aviation & aerospace seals, automotive and aerospace hoses, synchronous belts for automotive engines, and wires and cables.

In the current operation of rubber and plastic enterprises, the pressure of energy saving, consumption reduction and emission reduction of enterprises continues to increase, due to the combined influence of the continuous increase in labor costs, the strong implementation of the national environmental protection strategy, and the energy saving, and consumption reduction problems of mixing lines faced by rubber and plastic enterprises. Upgrading the production process and improving the quality of rubber mixing have become the basic demand of various enterprises.

Prior to this, Yiyang Rubber & Plastics Machinery’s maintenance experienced the change in business form from selling only spare parts to replacing the whole machine, but the business volume has not been greatly improved. Inspired by the successful production of Guizhou Hongyang Sealing’s integrally contracted production line and in light of the current industry trend, Yiyang Rubber & Plastics Machinery Maintenance Center decided to upgrade its business. The head said, “The replacement of spare parts and internal mixers will never be the mainstream of maintenance. Energy saving, efficiency improvement, and quality enhancement of mixing lines as well as delivering overall solutions to users are the key directions of maintenance in the future.”

K series internal mixers made by Francis Shaw, a UK-based company, and applied in the rubber mixing line of Guizhou Hongyang Sealing, will be transformed by Yiyang Rubber & Plastics Machinery. Due to the long service life and serious aging of supporting components, the electrical system also needs to be upgraded urgently. The main master mixer of Guizhou Hongyang Sealing to be upgraded requires short downtime for the whole line. As such, all processes from the confirmation of the overall plan to the design, manufacturing, installation, and commissioning of the equipment should be secured. The completion of the project is more difficult than the construction of a new intelligent rubber mixing production line.

The personnel from the Maintenance Department of Yiyang Rubber & Plastics Machinery Marketing Center said, “The transformation of imported rubber mixing line will be consistent with the management concept of ‘one-step intelligent rubber mixing technical project.’ The upgrading is divided into two steps. Efforts are made in upgrading the equipment layout, the targeted imported internal mixers, electric drive systems, and electrical control systems to lay a solid hardware and software foundation for the company to launch the MES system. We will create another new model for the transformation of the mixing line with high automation, intelligence, and improved quality and efficiency, so as to bring new demonstration effects to more mixing line upgrading projects in the rubber industry.”
